6th Annual Soundcheck Fest in Pinedale

(Published by Planet JH Weekly)HotClubofCowtownThere’s been a free, all-ages and under-the-radar (to Jacksonites) festival happening in Pinedale for the last five years. Pinedale Fine Arts Council’s 6th Soundcheck Music Fest, once again, has staged a terrific lineup headlined by an Austin entity—the hard-swinging Western swing trio, Hot Club of Cowtown. The band, influenced heavily by the combo of guitarist Django Reinhardt and violinist Stephane Grappelli as well as Bob Wills and His Texas Playboys, just celebrated its 17th birthday and has released a dozen albums. Two duos round out the bill—the hard-driving backwoods blues of Hymn for Her and brilliantly named, Pinedale-based The Boom and The Bust. 6th Annual Soundcheck Music Fest, 5 p.m. at American Legion Park in Pinedale. Free, all-ages. PinedaleFineArts.com.
