Three Hearted Recording Studio
Hoback, WY
Located in Hoback, Wyoming (“Hoback Nation”) on the south end of Jackson Hole in Snake River Canyon, Three Hearted Recording offers professional grade recording, audio production, mixing and mastering, instrumental composition for film/video, audiobook capture, and a session musician resource in a mountainside cabin setting.
Three Hearted Recording Studio was established in 2017 by songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer-engineer Aaron Davis. The cabin studio is located near three legendary rivers (the Snake, the Hoback, and the Greys) and three mountain ranges (Wyoming Range, Gros Ventre Mountains and the Tetons). Aaron’s philosophy of what inspires great recordings has come from studying iconic producers and timeless records. The quest to learn the science of audio engineering education has played out over various classes, workshops and mentoring sessions while making a dozen albums of his own. Great performances are harvested from good energy, and captured with a professional and engaged team that care deeply about the final product.
"Aaron did a great job of not overproducing any of [The WyoFolk Project], which is kind of like Wyoming. We don’t really overdo things in this state. And I like that.” - singer songwriter Jordan Smith
A scenic view looking north at Jackson Hole, the vaulted A-Room is 20 feet high and has a lush, woody ambience and plenty of character. Whether you are a full band making an album or a solo act looking to add textures to your songs utilizing a regional network of stellar studio players, there are various ways to tailor the recording process to the music being captured. This includes latency-free live tracking with musicians in the same room or building a studio track from the ground up using a range of production techniques. The studio has high-end industry preamps and D/A converters from Apogee, Grace Design, Audient and Great River Electronics; vintage style, made-in-the-USA outboard compressors by Audioscape, industry leading plug-in suites, and over dozens of modern and vintage microphones in the toolbox.
Three Hearted Recording aims to cultivate a low-key, supportive vibe for artists to thrive in their sessions. Feel free to reach out with questions about establishing a game plan for what is a Three Hearted process—the artist’s heart, the engineer-producer’s heart, and the third heart of inexplicable truth that makes recording such a unique art form.
