Three Hearted Recording
Located in Hoback, Wyoming ("Hoback Nation") on the south end of Jackson Hole, Three Hearted Recording offers professional grade recording, audio production and mixing, instrumental composition for film/video, and a session musician resource in a mountainside cabin setting.
Three Hearted Recording studio was established by songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer-engineer Aaron Davis. The studio is located near three legendary rivers (the Snake, the Hoback, and the Greys) and three mountain ranges (Wyoming Range, Gros Ventre Mountains, and the Tetons). Aaron’s philosophy of what inspires great recordings has come from studying iconic producers and timeless recordings. A hands-on education played out over the course making his own nine studio albums—perhaps none more impressionable than Screen Door Porch‘s studio sessions working with top-notch engineers and musicians in Austin. Great performances are harvested from good energy, and they are captured with a professional and engaged team that care deeply about the final product.
Not just a scenic location and a rich sounding vaulted cabin room, the studio has received a number of significant upgrades in the last decade. Whether you are a full band making an album or a solo act looking to add textures to your songs utilizing a regional network of stellar studio players, there are various ways to tailor the recording process to the music being captured. This includes latency-free live tracking with musicians in the same room. High-end industry preamps and D/A converters from Apogee, Grace Design, Audient and Great River Electronics, vintage style outboard compressors, plug-in suites, and a range of more than a dozen modern to vintage microphones are on hand in the toolbox.
Three Hearted Recording aims to cultivate a low-key, supportive vibe for artists to thrive in their sessions. Feel free to reach out with questions about establishing a game plan for what is a Three Hearted process—the artist’s heart, the engineer-producer’s heart, and the third heart of inexplicable truth that makes recording such a unique art form.
Recent projects include: folk-country band Coyote Queen, songwriter Jason Tyler Burton, swing trio The Minor Keys, Isaac Hayden, jazz vocalist/guitarist Quinn Cerovski, Micah Maly, Clint King, Kathy McCann, and The Mystery Machine.
