WYOmericana Caravan Tour Dates kicks off May 21
A dozen musicians. Three bands representing one state. Eighteen shows through five states in just nineteen days. Meet the 2nd Annual WYOmericana Caravan Tour featuring Screen Door Porch, The Patti Fiasco and J Shogren Shanghai’d.A traveling concert circus of sorts, the WYOmericana Caravan is a rolling representation of the square state’s burgeoning songwriter scene. Artists will rotate performance slots each night, making the headliner/opener scenario unique to each tour stop. Three sets of WYOmericana music each night along with a heap of ad-libbed collaborations between bands—this is one music tour you won’t soon forget. The debut 2013 Caravan was such a home run it caught the attention of The New York Times, which sent a writer and photographer to cover the tour for a full-page, Sunday feature. Wyoming’s own Square State Film Co. also put a crew of videographers together, traveling the lengthy 3000 miles to craft the forthcoming documentary film, WYOMERICANA (to be released April 1). The snowball of outreach and support led to Wyoming’s largest newspaper, Casper Star-Tribune, naming the WYOmericana Caravan Tour a Top A&E Event in Wyoming. Hop on board for this, a ramble through the Rockies.2014 WYOmericana Caravan Tour DatesWED May 21 - Laramie, WY - Gryphon TheatreTH May 22 - Denver, CO - Walnut RoomFRI May 23 - Laporte, CO - Swing StationSAT May 24 - Salt Lake City, UT - The GarageSUN May 25 - Ketchum, ID - Whiskey JacquesMON May 26 - Boise, ID - NeuroluxWED May 28 - Jackson, WY – Pink Garter TheatreTHU May 29 - Bozeman, MT - Live From the DivideFRI May 30 - Missoula, MT - The Top HatSAT May 31 - Whitefish, MT - The Great NorthernSUN June 1 - Butte, MT - The Silver Dollar SaloonMON June 2 - Livingston, MT - The Murray BarTUE June 3 - Livingston, MT - The Murray BarWED June 4 - Sheridan, WY – WYO TheaterTHU June 5 - Lander, WY - Lander City ParkFRI June 6 - Casper, WY - Keg & CorkSAT June 7 - Saratoga, WY – Hi-Water Hoedown @ The YardSAT Aug 23 – Cody, WY – Wild West River Fest @ City ParkTHE BANDS:Jackson-based quartet Screen Door Porch delivers a Wyoming-grown fusion of soulful Americana, Roots-Rock and Country-Blues. The core female/male singer-songwriter combo of Seadar Rose & Aaron Davis thrive in a space that houses colorable harmonies, varied acoustic & electric instrumentation, and have “a sort of Lennon/McCartney arrangement and get it right every time” (Americana UK). Rounded by the monster rhythm section of Tom Davidson (fretless bass) and Andy Peterson (drums, vocals), SDP’s two studio albums have been internationally recognized in seven “Best Albums of the Year” lists and climbed into the Top 25 of the Euro-Americana Chart. ScreenDoorPorch.comWith proud Wyoming roots, The Patti Fiasco is fresh from a showcase at South by Southwest Festival in Austin, TX. Riding the release of their regionally acclaimed 2013 sophomore release, Small Town Lights, the album debuted at #5 on the Colorado charts. The quintet is known for their electric, high-energy live show with fiercely original songwriting, and unique instrumentation (…electric dobro). The Patti Fiasco has shared Colorado’s biggest stages in the past year with nationally touring acts such as Ben Harper and Charlie Musselwhite, Justin Townes Earle, Great American Taxi, and Cracker. PattiFiasco.netAmong the few singer-songwriters who have been party to a Nobel Peace Prize, J Shogren Shanghai’d (Laramie/Centennial) plays original hard acoustic music from lives lived in loud proportions. Shogren’s style of WYOmericana is a modern interpretation of traditional roots music; an amalgamation of blues, old timey, country/western, jazz, vaudeville, rockabilly roll, ballads, and polka. Shogren—who will be joined by multi-instrumentalist Jascha Herdt—represented Wyoming at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis in 2013. His latest album was named to House of Mercy Radio’s Top 50 Albums. JShogren.org
