Triple at the Tav

(Published in Planet JH Weekly, additional content added)GroodMusicThe guys (and gal) that make up This Must Be the Band transform into persona to deliver Talking Heads tribute music. But they also have original music, dubbed Grood Music, blending emotive rock with electronic beats. The progressive stamp is still inked with a David Byrne-inspired delivery and inviting production.Supporting this triple bill are two fresh local projects with original spins—Black Mother Jones (BMJ) and Madelaine. Black Mother Jones is, well, Whiskey Mornin’ less one member. BMJ sheds the cover band motif in favor of penning their own Southern-edged, power-chord heavy, garage band rock that comes off as loose and energetic.Madelaine German (photo: Renee Glick)Madelaine will kick-off the night with original jazz-pop lounge music. The trio is composed of Madelaine German (keyboards/vocals) and BMJ/Whiskey Mornin’ bandmates Leif Routman (bass) and Jacob Gampe (drums).Padding the importance of giving back to the community, production company 307 Live (operated by Stephen Carter and Harper Hollis) is donating 20% of profits to various charities in tradition with Moustache March. 307 Live presents Grood Music, Black Mother Jones & Madelaine, 9:30 p.m. Wednesday March 13 at Town Square Tavern. $5. 307Live.com.
