By Aaron Davis (for JHWeekly.com)From exile to the stageHaving been decimated by war in the ’90s, many residents of West Africa’s Sierra Leone were forced to flee to neighboring Guinea. Refugee camps sprouted, as did Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars through the donation of a few instruments. The sextet is now touring in support of its sophomore album, Radio Salone, a mix of African, Caribbean, and reggae styles. Sierra Leone Refugee All-Stars, 5:30 p.m., Sunday, at Concert in the Commons in Teton Village. Free, all ages. JacksonHole.com.

Your best BudEven if you’re just slightly interested in the blues, or the history thereof, living legend Buddy Guy is a pleasure to hear. Not only is he the pioneer of the Chicago blues sound and one of the greatest electric guitarists of all time, he’s a spry, joyful character at 76 years old. Center for the Arts presents Buddy Guy, 8 p.m., Monday, at the Center Theater. Tickets are $85 balcony or $115 orchestra and premium balcony, available at JHCenterForTheArts.org or 733-4900.Big Easy grooves, Dead vibesThe rumor mill has been churning out praise and props for 7 Walkers – a collaboration that formed in 2009 featuring former Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann, guitarist/vocalist Papa Mali, bassist George Porter Jr. of The Meters, and multi-instrumentalist Matt Hubbard. Jammy? Swampy? Funky? That’s what you get and more on 7 Walkers, the 2010 debut LP, an all-out love affair for New Orleans and Louisiana that has sparked a legitimate co-writing relationship between Mali (a New Orleans native) and Grateful Dead lyricist Robert Hunter. “I had to dig really deep in my soul, and I knew this was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity … to get to write with somebody who I consider one of the greatest American songwriters of our time,” shared Papa Mali. “Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Leonard Cohen, Robbie Robertson – [Hunter] is right up there with that echelon of songwriters.” The other key element of this project, and seemingly the tide that binds, is the strong friendship between Mali and Kreutzmann. 7 Walkers, 9 p.m., Wednesday, at the Pink Garter Theatre. Tickets are $30 advance or $3 /day-of-show, available at The Rose or PinkGarterTheatre.com. 733-1500.
