Neville, a keyboardist, is supported by his cousin Ian Neville on guitar, drummer Raymond Weber, and a double bass attack—yes, two bassists—Nick Daniels and Tony Hall. Called New Orleans’s best funk band by Offbeat Magazine, Gambit Weekly and The New York Times, the band effortlessly lays down aggressive grooves with 110-percent Crescent City flare.With slap bass, bluegrass mandolin chops and quirky, major-key arrangements, instrumental trio Jet Black Ninja Funkgrass Unit is a fitting local match.Ivan Neville’s Dumpstaphunk and Jet Black Ninja Funkgrass Unit, 6 p.m., Thursday, Victor City Park. Vendors will be on-site to provide a variety of food options, beer and wine.Top-notch duosPairing the winners of A Prairie Home Companion’s 2008 and 2009 Great American Duet Sing Off, Virginia’s The Honey Dewdrops and locals Anne and Pete Sibley are two duos in a pod.
