New (year) Album, Commercials, IMTour Roster

Change—rarely celebrated in my world, though it's a dependable button pusher. Gone with the beard was not one of these but it is quite the stinger to feel zero degree weather on a raw face once again! A year ago I was in a rough spot, musically, and it has taken much of the last year to come full circle. So the hangover of change came with a new band, new batch of songs, and re-learning how to have a solo career a decade later.Aaron Davis & the Mystery Machine has grown tight and settled into a groove of its own, and my second solo album (release #9) is all but wrapped up. Can't wait to share some of the best songs I've ever written and sang on record. It not only features the five core Mystery Machine guys but a dozen local players and singers that I've come to know through previous collaborations. It's also the first self-produced/self-engineered project since launching Three Hearted Recording in 2016. Having a recording studio in Jackson Hole has allowed for a relaxed pace in my own space. Now it's time to push this one out the door and make head space for two regional songwriters that are starting albums with me here in January.Screen Door Porch is still on hiatus, though we commissioned a remix of my tune "Firewater" to Wyoming-based Pinnacle Bank. I also donated an instrumental version of a new unreleased song, "Hitchin' to Concordia," to non-profit Mountain Bike the Tetons for a promotional video. Trout Unlimited of Jackson Hole has also reached about two fly fishing/mountain-inspired songs for a forthcoming short film, so I'm excited to collaborate with another non-profit doing important work in the Teton region. The Mystery Machine was recently added to the official artist roster at IMTour.org, which matches independent musicians with nonprofit presenters in the West. Interested out-of-state venues can apply for grant funds to host us. We'll be hitting the road in earnest this spring and summer in support of the album, so let us know where we should play next! Here's to a New Year of peace, friends, family & music!
