Keen’s party never ends

(Published by Planet JH Weekly)In the late ‘80s, alt-country singer-songwriter Robert Earl Keen hit the road with fellow Austinites Guy Clark and Townes Van Zandt with a few albums and the anthem that would become his signature, “The Road Goes on Forever.” All in all, he has recorded eighteen full-length albums. His songs have been covered by some of the greats, including Jo Ely, Lyle Lovett, The Highwaymen and Nanci Griffith. But nothing says more than when you are in a club as far away from Texas as Jackson Hole and most of the crowd is singing along to your songs. Detroit based alt-country band Deadstring Brothers will open the show, spreading a sound reminiscent of The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street.
