Jewish Fest trims, approaches hip

(Published in Jackson Hole Weekly, additional content added)The Jackson Hole Jewish Music Festival (JHJMF), now in its fourth year, is trimming its program this year to focus on two acts—Soulfarm and Aviv String Quartet. The Fest is also switching venues—from the Snake River Lodge to the Center Theater. From country to world music, pop and rock, Soulfarm was formed in Israel by Grammy winning guitarist C. Lanzbom and guitarist/lead singer Noah Solomon Chase. Having recorded with Perry Farrel, Dispatch and Matisyahu, this sounds like one of the hippest acts that JHJMF has brought to date. Aviv String Quartet, a classical chamber ensemble that aims for precision, compliments a different spectrum for the fest. 4th Annual Jackson Hole Jewish Music Festival presents Soulfarm (5 p.m., Thursday) and Aviv String Quartet (5 p.m., Monday) at the Center Theatre. Both shows are $5/advance or $10/day-of-show. Purchase tickets at jhjmf.org.
