New Year's Eve with
The Docks at Snow King Resort was a riot—little kids, big kids, grandparents, skids, ski bums, hipsters, Canadians with oddly carved hair dues, we got it all! The vibe was killer and the crowd was as eclectic as Jackson Hole can get.
Come join
The Docks this week when we hit
43 North (Thursday, 10pm) and the
Mangy Moose this weekend -- Saturday (9:30-midnight) and Sunday (apres-ski set 4-6pm, night show 9:30-midnight). We've got another batch of new tunes to debut.
January guarantees two things each year – sub zero temps, and
Sled Dog Tour (IPSSSDR) with
Global Review. GR's first gig in nearly six months will be 5-7:30 pm on Friday, January 30 on the
Town Square for the annual kick-off of the International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race. Yep, that's outside, Jackson, January, brrrrr. We've had some great rehearsals and this marks our 5th Anniversary Tour with the race.
IPSSSDR [ip-sa-der] as it's famously called, starts in Jackson each year and ends in Park City, Utah nine days later. It's a big deal in the mushing world—a qualifier for Alaska's Iditarod and the second biggest sled dog race in the world. We entertain in every little Wyoming community along the way, and go bowling as much as possible. It's not far from a Kingpin sequel. This year we'll play at each of the nine stages, with the Lander Bar being a new venue on the route.
Percussionist Barry Lewis will be joining me for a two-night stint in Idaho Falls on February 13 at Vino Rosso and on Valentine's Day at The Cellar in nearby Ammon, Idaho.
And lastly... some good feedback on my first solo album, Rear View Mirror, has washed ashore from parts of Europe -- Italy, England and Belgium -- and I'm aiming to make it over there in 2010 for a tour.
In other news, how bout that new President!!
Cheers,
Aaron
