With Margo in Austin now, Boondocks has morphed into The Docks. We've been wood shedding lots of new material and plan to have special guests along the way. Here are the first few gigs:

Fri-Sat. Dec. 26-27 @ Silver Dollar Bar, Jackson, Wy, Free!
New Year’s Eve Party @ Snow King Resort, 9pm-1am in the lobby, $5.
Best value in town for NYE! An acoustic set + 2 electric sets. With the open-air setup in the lobby you can view stage from 4 stories up.
Open Mic
Thanks to all who made the first round of Open Mics at Southside Pub. It's already been a great roundup of local talent and good folk. Come out and play, or just to listen. Every Wednesday 8-11pm. All ages.
Community Radio & Underground Music
A big shout to KHOL 89.1 FM Jackson for spinning the new disc, and taking great care of recognizing local and live happenings round town. Thanks to Neil, who had me on his show, "The Lot," earlier this week. The station and its volunteers have created a great outlet for music and whole-heartedly support the arts in this town. And, they're playing real music, all of the time...hardly noticed that my truck CD player is trashed!
On a similar note, I enjoyed how the editor of Paste Magazine, Josh Jackson, explained in his editorial this month why most of the music mag's Best of 2008 Albums were not in the Billboard 200 Chart—
"We've never made a conscious decision to ignore what’s popular, but even with all the changes in music distribution, there’s still a pretty big discrepancy between the music we love and what's selling at Best Buy and Wal-Mart."
Cheers to that.
